It really got a bit dark when truly seeing what Mega Man is. He happily assassinates his own kind for the good of humanity. Even though during research the official canon is that he doesn’t destroy the circuit that supplies life for these robots, he acts as their main oppressor. There is no chance of robot independence because Mega Man is simply too talented. And if a robot happens to be more talented then Mega Man will take their talents and make them talentless.
Besides the Astro Boy/Pinocchio like similarities, Mega Man holds his own as a force of destruction. Pinocchio never sapped away the powers of his toy counterparts, right?
